It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the match."

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated through the pain.

However although she later admitted those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
